AI training data partnerships for BPOs and call centers
BPOs run millions of customer conversations and back-office transactions under detailed process documents and quality scorecards. That combination of task, procedure and graded outcome is close to what AI labs need to train support and operations agents. Momentra helps BPOs and contact centers assess what they can license, recognizing that most of the data is processed on behalf of clients.
Can BPOs and call centers license or sell their data for AI training?
BPOs and call centers can license their own process material, and client data where clients permit, as AI training data. Call transcripts, QA scorecards with calibration notes and process SOPs are the most valuable assets. Customer data and recordings usually belong to the client, spoken card and account details are removed, and cross-border processing terms follow laws like GDPR.
No files needed upfront. We sign an NDA before reviewing any sample.
Data BPOs and call centers hold that AI can learn from
Call transcripts and recordings
Inbound and outbound calls across collections, insurance claims, telecom support and travel bookings show real customer interactions in many languages.
QA scorecards and calibration notes
Evaluations that score calls against parameters, with auditor comments, label what good and bad handling looks like.
Process SOPs and knowledge bases
Process documents for each line of business explain decision trees, exceptions and escalation rules.
Back-office transaction workflows
Data entry, claims processing, KYC verification and invoice handling steps show repetitive work done inside client systems.
Training and nesting material
Agent training modules, mock call scripts and assessments are often created by the BPO and describe how new staff learn a process.
What this data helps AI models learn
Voice and chat support agents
Anonymized transcripts with QA scores can help train models that handle conversations and follow process rules.
Automated quality review
Scorecards paired with transcripts can teach models to evaluate calls the way trained auditors do.
Back-office computer-use agents
Recorded transaction workflows can support agents that complete forms and verify documents in business software.
Privacy and compliance, handled first
You decide what is in scope, nothing moves before an NDA, and data is anonymized before any further use.
Client ownership of data
Under most BPO contracts, customer data and recordings belong to the client. Including them usually needs client permission, while your own training material and methods may be yours.
Customer personal and financial details
Names, account numbers, card details and addresses spoken on calls are detected and removed or replaced. Payment card data is excluded, in line with PCI DSS obligations.
Cross-border processing
Calls handled for US, UK or EU clients may fall under laws like GDPR. The agreement sets out transfer and processing terms to match these obligations.
How a partnership begins
Share Basic Information
Share only your contact, company, industry, and partnership interests—no raw data required.
Initial Value Assessment
We discuss the data type, completeness, scarcity, and the tasks it could support.
Define the NDA and Boundaries
Before reviewing any sample, we define confidentiality, permitted use, retention, and security requirements.
Receive an Offer and Begin the Partnership
We provide a purchase proposal and contract, then support de-identification and secure data transfer.
Frequently asked questions
- We process data for clients. Can we license any of it?
- Only with permission for client-owned data. Some BPOs approach clients jointly, which can mean shared revenue. Material you created yourself, such as training content and QA frameworks, may not need permission.
- Are multilingual or Indian-language calls useful?
- They can be. Real conversations in Hindi, Tamil, code-mixed English and other languages are less common in training data. Whether they qualify is decided in the assessment.
- How is spoken personal data removed?
- Transcripts are processed with purpose-built tools that detect and replace names, numbers and other identifiers. Audio may need additional treatment or may be excluded.
- Do you need recordings, or are transcripts enough?
- It depends on the use case. Transcripts with QA scores and process context are often useful on their own, and they are easier to anonymize.
