Intercom Conversations as AI training data
Intercom conversations usually happen inside your product, so they arrive with context: which page the customer was on, which plan they use, and what a bot already tried before handing over to a person. That combination of chat, product data and handoff makes Intercom history distinctive. Momentra can assess whether your conversations qualify for an AI data partnership.
Can Intercom Conversations be used as AI training data?
Intercom conversations may be used as AI training data because each chat arrives with product context and a bot-to-human handoff. Teammate replies with internal notes, bot interactions up to the handover, and conversation ratings and tags are the strongest assets. Names, emails, user IDs and identifying custom attributes are removed, and you decide whether sales inboxes are in scope.
No files needed upfront. We sign an NDA before reviewing any sample.
What can be included
You choose the scope. These are the parts of Intercom Conversations that are typically most useful.
- ✓Conversation parts: customer messages, teammate replies and internal notes
- ✓Bot interactions and the point where a human took over
- ✓Conversation attributes, tags, topics and assignment history
- ✓Customer and company attributes such as plan or account age, after de-identification
- ✓Conversation ratings and resolution states
- ✓Help Center articles suggested or sent during conversations
Why AI labs value it
Bot-to-human handoffs
Seeing where an automated answer failed and how a human then resolved the issue is useful for training better support agents. Intercom records both halves of that exchange.
Product context alongside chat
Attributes like plan type or feature usage explain why a customer asked what they did. Models can learn to use account context when answering.
Short, real-time exchanges
Live chat is faster and more informal than email support. It shows how agents clarify a problem in a few messages and guide users through the product.
How it is scoped, exported and anonymized
Export via API
Intercom's REST API exposes conversations, parts, tags and contacts. Exports are planned after the NDA, typically for agreed date ranges and inboxes.
Strip identifiers and attributes
Names, emails, user IDs, company names, IP locations and custom attributes that identify customers are removed or replaced. Screenshots and file uploads are reviewed separately.
Separate sales and support
Many workspaces mix support conversations with sales outreach and lead qualification. You decide which inboxes are in scope, and outbound marketing messages are usually excluded.

Receive an Offer and Begin the Partnership
We provide a purchase proposal and contract, then support de-identification and secure data transfer.
Frequently asked questions
- Can AI-generated bot replies be included?
- They can be included to show where handoffs happened, but they are flagged as automated. The most useful content is usually what human teammates wrote.
- Do we need to include customer attributes?
- No. They add context but also add privacy work. You can include a reduced, de-identified set or leave them out entirely.
- We are a B2B SaaS. Will our customers' company names be removed?
- Yes. Company names, domains and other identifying details are part of what gets removed or replaced before further use.
- Is Momentra connected with Intercom?
- No. Intercom is named only to describe the source of your data, with no partnership implied.
